
These kinds of archives are dealing with all the economic aspects of the
country. They demonstrate different elements of the production, therefore, they
include archives units some of them dealt with capital, income and expenses
whereas the other ones dealt land systems, the third ones dealt with the
economic, commercial, industrial and agricultural activities.
The Capital Archives: include the
following units:
1- Ruznamga Bureau: 818
– 1305 H / 1403 – 1881 G
Ruznamga archives are considering the oldest
economic units in the National Archives, which include archives dealing with the
country's resource such as costums – Fredah – Halwan – Al Koshofya –
Gizya " tax on free non-Muslims under muslim rule ". – Khrag "
land tax according Islamic law " …etc.
The other types of the archives are dealing with the general expenses of
salaries, Financial claims, pensions of the military staff, ulama and sheikhs,
governers and sharakhisa " circassians " …etc
Ruznamga archives have been kept in governmental
archives before moving to the National Archives. They include log-books and
single archives, What available now are the log-books as for the single archives
they are still in the preparing process.
2- The Archives of Bait Al
Mal " Treasury ": 1252 – 1319 H / 1836 – 1904 G
Include two different groups in one archives
unit
The first:
official records for organizing and administrating Egypt.
The second:
private property of people.
Bait Al Mal archives include these subjects:
Tarika " heritag " – registration of dead people – the
log-books of trust and real estates-orphans fund – Al Maglis Al Hasbi "
probate court" – Mubaya Bureau in addition to many archives of the
heritage of people.
These types of archives have been proceeded to
the National Archives on two groups basis, though they are different, the
appendixes demonstrate the two groups together. The log-books are the only
available through a manual appendix, as for the single archives they are still
in process.
3- Financial Bureau:
1260 – 1297 H / 1844 – 1880 G.
Financial Bureau has been established so as to develop
and organize the financial policy of the government, the financial bureau
log-books show the incoming and outgoing letters of the sections of the Bureau
such as Fawariqat " Factories " – purchasing – consultation – Al
Shabarsat " remitttances " – Financial claims …etc
The archives of Financial Bureau have been
proceeded to the National Archives on two groups, the first on includes a number
of log-books reach to more than five thousands log-books, This group is
available now in The reading Hall.
The second group includes financial log-books, the
log-book of the European department and thousands of single archives; this group
is still in process.
4- Inspection divan: 1260
H / 1264 H. 1844 G / 1848 G
This divan control the financial policy of the
state through the financial and accounting works it carries out. The inspection
divan has a collection of books, some of which date back to historical period
preceeding establishing the divan.
The main books of the divan include: journal
books, case books and incoming and outcoming correspondence from and to other
divan and provinces…etc
The inspection divan's books are available at the
halls through an index of these books.
The land archives: include the
following units:
This collection deals with the land system in
Egypt during the rule of Mohammed Ali. The main topics of these books include
farm (Gafaleq) regulations, incoming and outgoing records of the divan, records
of the different entitlements and areas.
These books are available for sight through an
index, taking into consideration that this collection is currently being
microfilmed to keep the originals.
Trade archives

1- Trade divans:
1222 h / 1295 h – 1807 G /
1878 G.
The National Archives has some collections of
trade divan archives and these divans have several names: sales divan trade and
foreign affairs divan, trade and sales divan, trade and agriculature divan.
The trade and foreign affairs had tow kinds of
activities:
1st. related to trade and economy.
2nd. related to the international relations
especially the economic relations.
These divan archives are available for sight
through an index.
2- Egyptian trades people council:
1270 h /
1293 h – 1853 G / 1876 G.
This collection includes the books of the
Egyptian trades people council that deal with the incoming and outgoing
correspondence of this council. It also includes some of the reports, decisions
and briefs of the council. It also includes some of the reports, decisions and
briefs of the council.
This collection of books is available for sight
through a manual index. The National Archives also has some other books of
tradesmen in Alex. And some provinces still under preparation.
As well, The National Archives has collections of
modern economic archives in the form of files belonging to the ministry of
economy. Companies, banks, fair organization and international markets still
under preparation.
Industry archives : include

1- Factory ( Fawriques ) divan
:1248 h / 1280 h –
1832 G / 1863 G.
This divan was established to supervise factory
management in Cairo and provinces. The National archives have a small number of
archives of this divan.
