
Being a central
department affiliated to the National Library and Archives, the National
Archives is divided into the following:
1.General
Department for Documents collection and Preservation (DCP)
It is responsible for the
implementation of the NA's policy partaining to the collection, preservation and
registration of all documents partaining to the modern and contemporary history
of Egypt and make thereof available to the researchers. It is also assigned to
supervise the stock, prepare reports on the restoration and conservation of the
NA's works, also supervise and organize the participation of the NA ' s
delegates in the Archives' Permanent Committees of the State Administration
units.
The DCP primarily
includes the following departments :

3. Documents
Registration Dept.
4. Researchers' Advisory
Services Dept.
2. General
Department for Documents Technical Processes
It is responsible for
the classification, cataloguing, translation and exchange of the documents. It
is also assigned to prepare bibliographies, historical abstracts, edit some of
the documents collections, and make thereof available to the researchers.
The DTP
comprises the following :

Department for Documents Restoration and Conservation
It is responsible for
the restoration, Conservation, microphotography and binding of the documents.
The DRC comprises the following:

2. Microphotography
Dept.
3. Binding Dept.
